Power Window Failure
HEEEEEELP!
The switches have been rebuilt. The window motor has been rebuilt 3times and replaced 2times. Each time the window works about 10times before it fails. Are these just bad motors, is the (for lack of the correct word) window crank that the motor turns too difficult to turn? I'm in need of suggestions...

Have you greased everything properly. You might want to check the voltage to make sure that the motor is not burning itself out. If everything looks ok - you might want to try buying a motor from a different source as you may have run into a bad batch of electronics. Also check the ground as well.

I just had one of my motors rebuilt because it wouldn't turn one way. The guy that rebuilt it said he found a broken wire and resoldered it, but even after new brushes and turning the commutator on the lathe he said it ran really hot and not to expect too much more life out of it. Oh, well, only cost $40 vs. $110 for a new rebuilt one. Maybe your motors are dying on you because they're just too old, like mine. You may have to bite the bullet and get a better rebuilt one from the parts houses that has some sort of warranty.

The motor should not draw more than 13 amps at 12 volts. If it does, replace it with a known good motor.

With the motor disconnected, can you push the window up manually? Door may have been damaged previously and window tracks are bent.

If you remove the regulater mechanism you can prop the window up. Then ck the regulater and window runs for binding.
