Help with convertible top switch!!
I have a '63 'vert with a bad top switch. At least, that what my diagnosis implies. There is juice going through in the "erect" position, but none in the "retract" position.
Anyhow, the escutcheon for the switch is gone and I am not 100% certain this is the original switch - although the top worked with this switch when it was last cycled - about 4.5 years ago. Has been in storage...long story. Does anyone have a source for the escutcheon/switch and/or a picture of the original switch? This, apparently is a '63 only switch. I know there are many things that affect top operation - it worked perfectly when parked. The lack of electricity flow on the "retract" side is why I am suspect of the switch. Any response would be appreciated. |

Check with the many suppliers of Bird parts. Given it worked earlier take the switch apart and clean the contacts. Not too hard a job.
