Bill Gill of the Thunderbird Center would be a good contact. His number is 248 548 1721.
He is the founder of the "T" Bird Center but does not spend a lot of time there. His daughter, Cindy works there as well as Eric and one of them could tell you how to get in touch with Bill. Jim

Thanks for the ideas.
I didn't use Bill in the end, I used a guy called Jason Phillips of www.autoappraise.com who got recommended to me. I was impressed by professionalism and service. My car is currently being shipped to New Zealand, so I can't vouch for the quality of his assessment yet, but given the wealth of info etc he sent me, I am feeling confident...
