chassis and engine number

Do 57s have a chasssis number and engine number
and if so where should i look for them

The VIN is stamped on the chassis. It's on the upper surface of the right frame member straight down from spark plug number 3. It may be hard to see, as it's not stamped very deeply and easily obscured by paint, dirt, or surface rust. If you can find it, it's a good way to check the validity of the VIN on the firewall data plate. Haven't seen anything about an engine number.

I found the chassis no and it matches the vin also found an engine no on the block just behind the water pump near the valley cover
