Electrical problem has me stumped!! HELP !!!

On my 1957 Bird when you apply the brakes the dash lights come on. Then when you turn on the headlights the right signal quits working. I've replaced the headlight switch and checked the bulb grounds. The turn signal works as it should with the headlights off. Any ideas? Thanks Lex

wiring problem

Lex446,
Might try looking into the turn signal switch. Also look at front junction blocks to see if there are any frayed wires etc. I had a similar problem on my '56 and the wires to the blocks were a rats nest. Changed the front harness and that did the trick. .. Good luck!

Has it always been this way or did it just start doing this?

Sounds like a ground problem or the wires are messed up. Get an electrical installation manual to trace the wires.

Yes, grounds are a real buggaboo and do get the Manual. CTCI also has a wiring diagram that folds out that I have found useful.

No, I don't work for them, but I have found the stuff they publish quite helpful.
