They were nice cars but they were caught up in the transistion period and a victim of the FOX mentality. The two door Fairmont/Zepher and two door Granda/Cougar
were a lot less expensive and could be optioned up as nice. I always liked the carry over of the hidden headlights and the lines of the car. I have a friend that put a 5.0 HO from an 85 mustang in an '81 and it made a very nice car, he even put a factory hood scoop from an '83 mustang GT on it and it really added to the looks. :)
