Battery Apron

This will be the third forum I have asked this question on. I can't seem to find a definitive answer, maybe someone here knows. I have a 1966 Landau with a rusted out battery apron (the only place on the car with rust) I have been able to find replacement battery aprons at several parts suppliers, however they are generic for 64 thru 66. I think the design for the 66 was a little different, well at least the hold downs are. will the generic apron work with the 66 tray, hold downs, etc.? I already have the tray and hold down that goes over the top of the battery.

Thanks,

Josh

The battery apron - part of the unibody construction - is the same. The battery hold-down is accomplished at the battery tray. 1966 is diffetrent than 1964,65.

Thanks for the input but I beleive I have figured it out. There are two different patterns stamped into the battery aprons. One is stamped with a T like pattern which the Battery tray fits into and the other is stamped with a shark like pattern. I'm not sure when the change was made but it was sometime in the 66 model/year. If your battery tray has a clamp at the bottom you can use the generic apron (T Pattern). I have not been able to find the apron for the tray with the hold downs that go over the top of the battery. I'm in the process of fabricating my own patch panel. I'll post pics when I'm done. If someone knows this to be incorrect please let me know, with the research I've done its the best I could come up with.
