1966 power windows problem

all windows work for a short time then they all quit.wait awhile then they work again for a short time.any ideas what might be wrong?

That's how a circuit breaker works !! I would first suspect the window safety relay - mounted on the firewall behind the engine. You could bypass it and see if you still have the problem. Have you checked your shop manual?

where is the relay located at and what does it look like?thanks

"where is the relay located at" Does this mean: Where is the relay located? Where is the relay? My message stated " mounted on the firewall behind the engine." That's where the relay is !! Looks like a small metal can with three wires attached. Did you look??
