Exclamation Headlight switch

Does anyone know where I can find a new or good used headlight switch for a 1964 T-Bird for less than the $80.00 I was recently quoted? Also, does anyone have a working or not 1964 am/fm radio they want to sell or part with for a good price?

Thank you

Terry

I called Bird nest and they have a switch for $85.00 and that is probably the way I'll go because I want to replace the switch only once. I found a couple of used switches, but they are almost as much money.

Lightbulb

Has any body heard of using a 61-63 headlight switch and shortening the shaft?
I found a listing for this in a catalog, but I wanted to see if any one has had any experience with this.

Terry,
When I replaced the headlight switch on my 66 I got one from a local parts house that was supposed to be for 65-66. As it turned out the shaft was too long and I had to shorten it. Getting the shaft out of the control knob is not easy. I then had to secure the control knob on the shaft with a set screw.

Joe: you could just cut off the shaft and reshape the end to match the original end.

I believe the 64 Bird headlight switch is a 1 year only switch-that's why it is so expensive. Check with your local auto parts man. I don't believe 61-63 switch or the 65-66 switches are wired right for the 64 Bird
