Question Tail Light Issues

Here is a strange one. I was driving home in the 66 a few night ago and a fellow motorist told me that my taillights were not working. Everything else was working. I thought this strange because I had checked them not that long ago and they were fine. Anyway, when I got home and checked, they were working. But I did fiddle with the light switch on the way home by turning the knob back and forth. At home I fiddled some more and noticed that if I twist the knob all the way counterclockwise, to the click, the taillight would turn off. As soon as I turned it clockwise off of the click, the taillights would turn back on.

By the way, my instrument lights don't work. Fuse is good. I'm thinking a bad light switch. What do you think?
