86 Thunderbird Ignition Wiring Diagram Needed

So, this guy reached out to me for help with his 1986 Thunderbird Elan 5.0 .

Apparently the plug was failing, so he was moving the wires to the new plug and thinks he mixed them up because the car won't start.

I have spent 20+ hours looking through google images and calling junkyards. Most people laugh when I tell them what I'm searching for. At this point I think the only hope is another person's kindness of removing the cover on their own car and drawing or taking pictures of the plug.

God Bless

The wire colors probably don't change color on the mated plug, so that is probably the most straightforward solution. Even a wiring diagram is unlikely to contain a pinout for each connector.

the plug connects directly to a socket/ ignition switch with no indication of color

Here are links which were not helpful- http://www.automotive-parts-rebuilde...air-manual.pdf

That model TBird is the same Fox chassis as the Mustang, just stretched about 4", so most of the wiring should be similar if not identical.

He will attempt to use/verify the wiring diagram and get back to us. Seems promising! My fingers are crossed!
