There were no sunvisors on the '55s. They were first used on the '56 model.

hmmmmmm...i may be wrong on this, but i think all 55's had one sun visor on the drivers side....none on the pass side....then in 56 every car got both sides...you can add them (both), but just buying the sun visors is not the end of it--the chrome moldings on each side are 'cut out' for the visor brackets..these are needed, too..weirdly, my 55 bird came with both sides from the factory but i can't verify it in any way..i am second owner and it's a very early car P5100110..31st one made..go figure....later ed mlynek

I would agree with Paul and Tom.

The CTCI Resto manual on pg 19 shows a non padded on a 56. (Padded visors were included in "Safety Package A"
On pg 217 it shows a 56 and a 57 bracket and the differences.
No mention of the 55s having sun visors.

My 55 is original and has no sun visors nor provisions for attaching sun visors on the inner windshield mouldings for mounting them.

It would be great if someone made a part to clip into the convertible top clips to accept a let say 1956+ sun visor that are readily available. Ovcourse only useful with the top down. It would have to be chromed.

My 55 (an early one) has no sun visors, and the stainless and chrome windshield mouldings have no provisions for them to be mounted.

OK--all you have to do to 55 birds with no provision for sun visors is buy '56 - '57 sun visor windshield "mountings" . the windshields are all the same ('55 to '57) . only difference is that sun visor holes and stuff are on the windshield trim on 56 and 57 birds. when i bought my 55 in 1971, it had both sun visors on it. someone did just that to it. and for years i thought all 3 years came with sun visors. i was wrong, of course. now i know only 55s did not have sun visors..and the sun visors themselves were not on my bird-just the mountings-when i went to buy them, they were (1974) around $200 apiece, too much for me at the time..i finally bought a pair in around 1999 and i had a black interior and only could get white ones, so i had to go to the local trim shop and have 'custom' 'covers' made foe them in black.

Thanks.
I would like to do that provided I do not have to drill holes. Can a 56/57 owner forward a pic of the mounts? I found smeone who will make the sun visor the color you want but at near the same price.
