Failed Brakes
Anyone out there with a dual master- listen up.
Most folks went to dual master (often with discs) for the safety of the "if one set fails, the other will work". This weekend my rear brake hose broke while I was leaving the highway onto an off ramp at about 80mph. Scared the hell out of me and the folks in the church van in front of me. Bird, driver, and kids in van are OK. Driver is pissed. Got home, and the vendor sent me another master cylinder. Tested it out with just one reservoir filled. Wouldn't pump up. You may want to test yours. You may not have the factor of safety you think you do. Stephen. |
