Early Birds [1955-1957] Have a Super Sharp 1955 to 1957 Thunderbird or just want to learn about them? Show yours off and talk about them here. |
This is a discussion on Radiator within the Early Birds [1955-1957] forums, part of the Thunderbird Model Years category; I'm about to get the radiator redone - any tips for this seemingly standard item?...

Brian,
I hope you are as lucky as I have been with our local radiator shop. He has done three '57 radiators for me and they are functionally perfect and cosmetic jewels. The bad news is: he is a tri-five Chevy guy. Don't take radiator repair for granted. Here are some things I've noticed on '55-'57 radiators: (1) Overflow tube is the wrong configuration. (2) Lower fan shroud bracket not soldered to lower tank. (3) Upper tank top half installed backwards. You see, it isn't such a safe, routine repair. Some shops have managed to screw it up! Best of Luck, Tom |

Thanks for the insight. That is hard to believe.
I've got lots of pictures of everything, and I can point those items out. BTW, new fenders getting hung this weekend, the body rolls along. |
