Do you know for sure that its the tach and not the drive cable or drive gear off the distributor? I'd check them first, but if it is indeed the tach itself, a check through Hemmings magazine, or their online website, will lead you to a number of rebuilders of tachs and speedometers.

wellcome to 'sticker shock' rebuilt tach prices....$190+ for rebuild and your old tach 'core' was around $400 more....(if you don't have it)...you did not say if we are talking about a 55-56 (same ones) or a 57 ..(different size - different dash).....i have a good, used, 55 tach.....for sale....$85---you pay to ship from georgia......also have a good, used, tach cable and the little gear drive thing that goes in to the dist....cheap..let's talk.....ed mlynek.....706-376-7514......
