Putting a new motor in a 55 bird
Hey all,
New to the forum here. I've got 2 55 birds. One is in real rough shape and I was thinking about using the chassis and some of the body to make a street/strip car. I'm tossing back and forth the idea of either putting in a 347 stroker with an aod or c4 OR going for a 460. I've looked around the forum a little bit and haven't seen much of this. Anyone here do it? Can you tell me what kind of mods I would be looking at on both the chassis and the body? Any info would be great. Thanks! |

theres not a lot of of that going on here. Check my profile, I have a 57 with a 460, and "birdzilla" is putting a FE aod set up in his. There a a couple of threads that we have chimed in on. Also we have a social group "modified 2 seaters".

How about a 540 HP Y-Block?
Amazing what John Mummert and Ted Eaton have done with Y-Blocks.
I for sure have some of his parts on my list!! Eaton Balancing FORD Y I am kinda new also so one thing I have been doing is going back and reading old posts here. Lots of good stuff. Another place with a lot of REALLY sharp Y-Block guys is: Y-BlocksForever Forum John and Ted hang there also. I don't know them and just lurk and read but it is some good stuff. HTH Jim
