My 55 will not crank

Hi all,
I parked my 55 about 3 weeks ago. This morning I thought I'd have a ride but as I turn the key, there is only some kind of a rattling sound. I went to the engine bay with ign on and pressed the know in the starter relay but nothing. The knob felt somewhat warm. The battery is new and was fully charged when I parked the car. The relay is also new (an aftermarket one)
Any thoughts?

The first thing I would check is the charge on the battery. If left that long the clock could run it down. When I'm not using the cars for an extended time, I always take the ground off the battery.

If the charge is ok, then clean all the electrical connections, especially the battery connections (both ends) and the cable that goes to the starter.

Thanks Paul, indeed the charge was low. With full battery it cranked and started with no problems.
I just thought that this rattling instead of a click would indicate something worse. I'm glad it was not.
