muffler heat shield for 57
 

Are the heat shields that fit between the muffler and the undercarriage worth the investment? I'm installing new mufflers and this would be the time to install heat shields if they actually work.

I have worked on newer cars that have some heat shielding there so it is probably not a bad thing to try. I have heard many complaints about hot floors / carpets making it uncomfortably warm inside the car. I myself have just started a frame off on my 1955 Thunderbird. I plan to put the heat / sound barrier inside the car and use the heat shields for the mufflers.
