Dipstick tube replacement
The dipstick tube for the 312 on my 57 broke and I purchased a new tube recently. The old tube had broken and it looked like someone tried to weld it back together before I owned the car and it eventually broke. I’m having trouble fitting the tube with the engine in the car and I really don’t want to pull the engine for this. Can I remove the heater for better access or has anyone else ran into a similar problem?

Removing the blower assembly will give you room to work. If you can raise the car, try that first. In the past, the replacement tubes were a terrible fit. I hope they have changed.
