Post tail light switch

Our '66 has lost all tail lights. We have been told that it is the switch under the package tray. We have not been able to find a distributor of this product. Does anyone know where we can obtain this switch? Thanks for your help. Carol and Bill

Are you talking tail lights or stop lights? The stop lights have a switch mounted on the brake pedal arm. The tail lights are part of the running light circuit. The stop lights have a 15 amp circuit breaker mounted in the fuse panel.

Thank you, Joe. At first we lost the brake lights. Now, no brake lights, no turn signals in the rear, nothing. The fuses have been checked. We were told from a mechanic that it was he switch under the package tray but we can't find one. No one in Sparks, Nevada wants to touch the electrical system in a Tbird with a ten foot pole. Thanks for your help. Carol & Bill

Bill& Carol,
I know what you mean about the mechanics, it is a problem. Since I bought my 66 new I have taken care of it myself. The sequental system seems to be a problem often encountered. I have a shop manual that I bought from Ford when I bought the car and I'm glad I did. You can still get them if you want one and are handy with tools. If you plan to keep the Bird you probably should get one.
For starters, if you have a test light ck to see if you are getting any voltage to the relays in the front of the trunk. If you are. one of the relays could be at fault. Since you live in Sparks, I would suggest you give the Bird Nest a call in Port. Or.they are nice guys, very helpful and have the parts you might need and manuals.

Let me know how you come out, good luck.

I don't know of any switch under the package tray that will affect tail lights. I think someone is pulling your leg. I don't think I can send pictures through the FORUM.
