Bench testing a 59 fuel and temp gauge.

I have My combo fuel and temp gauge out of my 59 and want to test it. How should I do This without it hooked up to the cvr which I understand Only sends 5 or 6 volts to the gauge. Don’t want to send 12 volts and cook the gauge. Thanks Jim

I built myself test station following these guidelines:

Making a bench testing power supply from a computer P/S - Vintage Thunderbird Club International

I've found numerous uses for it since--well worth the effort.
