No juice at the key

Howdy gents.

I am in day 3 of my "new" 66 Town Hardtop. I have really gotten the thing cleaned up, despite the ungodly heat and humidity here in Tampa. I am thoroughly detoxed.

My buddy came over tonight and insisted we put a battery in the car, so we did that. We had: headlights and running lights; dash lights; power driver's seat; and that's about all. No juice at the key, no courtesy lights, no blower fan, no brake lights, and no crank at the starter.

My big question is this......where is the factory location for the negative battery cable? On this car it's just screwed to the fenderwell on the passenger side. I would think it should be attached to the engine block of course, with a bonding strap to the body. Any ideas? Thanks gents for any help.
