Freeze plugs

Has anyone attempted to replace freeze plugs while the engine is still in the car? I've got some starting to seep a bit, but I'm worried about having room to work on the big old 429 in my bird. I think there are some in the rear of the engine also, but I won't worry about those until they really start leaking.
