Available parts for 77-79 T-Bird

It was too late for me to use for my fender repair, but I've picked up a 79 Bird ready for the crusher; if you need some parts let me know and I'll see if I can make it happen.

Parts for 1977-79 T-Birds

My parts car, a 1979 Bird, has now gone to the crusher. I see so few of these cars nowadays, that I snatched it up. But it is now unreachable. Not sure why, but I've noticed the costs for these Birds have risen steeply (on both e-bay and other classic car sites) over the last couple of years; yet the demand for parts has also diminished greatly. These trends seem to contradict one another; Is it the economy or what?

Rear Bumper Assembly

The rear bumper box and bumper I have is damaged, alas, bent in many places; nothing that you would want to put on your 77 Bird. Wish I could help you.

I'm sure you watch ebay; someone might put one up for sale there. Keep watching this forum as well. When I come across an important part like that, I usually post its availability.

Best wishes in locating one for your Bird.

bumpers 77-79 Bird

No bumpers left in my supply, I am sorry to say; but I will keep my eye out for you, Greg; I know how hard they are to fund in good condition; the last parts car I bought: both bumpers were trashed, bent or rusted; car sat outside too long in the weather. Best wishes to you.

Lower control arms

No lower control arms in my supply, but I have seen them listed in ebay motors under 1977-79 Thunderbirds.

headlight switch 79 T-Bird

I do have some headlight switches. Need to know, though, the part number on your old unit.
Thanks, Tim

it simply states, "Made in the USA".. The NOS that I purchased from E-Bay is a D7SB-11654-AA 8... It's almost identical but it's missing a circuit breaker along the back of the switch. Our car is the base model.. it was made in 7/78 and according to the vin, it's a '78 but has '79 door jam codes. So maybe I need a 79 switch?

78 or 79?

I wonder if the door was replaced prior to your owning the car and this is why you have 78 VIN but 79 door codes??? If that is the case, you would go for a 78 unit. I am not sure what you mean by a circuit breaker switch on your current unit. Can you PM me a pix or send me your email and I'll reply. Need to see what it is that you are referring to exactly.

The numbers you mentioned seem right to me. They basically match the ones I have in supply.
