78 town landeau stalling in drive

Hey all, new here and looking for some answers. My 78 town landau with the 351w keep stalling the minute I put it in drive but runs fine at idle in neutral and even reverse. First time really messing with carbeurated engine and trying to figure this out to at least be able to drive it while fixing it up as a project with my son. Any and all help is appreciated and I thank you!

It might be a transmission issue. With age/ abuse/ lack of maintenance an torque convertor can try to lock up at idle speeds. I'd find a reputable transmission shop and ask them to look at it.
