i am rebuilding the drivetrain on my 55' and while it is apart i wanna add newer parts; radiator, alternator, electric fan, carb, etc... what are some good choices to make my car run better and a little stronger?

If rebuilding the motor, put a stroker kit in it. Get compression up around 9:1 and a slightly larger cam for more torque.

thanks, any good references for a stroker kit that's available? and im a machinest as well. I was gonna machine whatever I can in the motor.. good idea? or bad??

A stroker kit will help, but is expensive. Check with John Mummert for a better cam, high lift rockers. Go with the "G" heads. Have the engine blue printed (brought up to factory specs). Make sure the engine is balanced.

If you have an automatic, do a C-4 conversion. Very happy with mine (Flat-O-Matic kit) . If standard, a five sped will help. shift .

A 312 wouldn't hurt either.
