My wife likes the new lock assembly much better. The cover on the old one had fallen off, the spring was missing, and no where near as "new" looking on the new paint job. Ordered it online from Bird...

When I put the latch back on I must have caused it to come loose. It's on in the photos LOL. My wife didn't like the cover anyway it had fallen off because the hing pin was rusted and the spring was...

Glove box handle trunk opener
Unfortunately the vacuum unit pulls on the same piece that the key turns. That was my first thought too. The piece that came off was the little bar that comes off the lock cylinder arm to the latch....

Noooooo.. You'd better double check yours
I guess that when I pulled the latch to take the photos I knocked the clip that holds the linkage bar to the lock lever loose. My wife went to the store and when she got home the trunk wouldn't open....

Took me a while to figure out how the trunk lock went back together also. The books don't show it very well then add the vacuum opener. I'll try and get a few photos of it this weekend and post them...
