rear brake spins

Recently I bought a 60 s"bird

The man who sold it to me said that the front brakes work however the back brakes do not. I had recently change the back brakes and hoses but when I had it on a lift in drive, the rear wheel keeps spinning when I depress the brakes. Is there something I need to replace to fix this problem?

Thanks
K

You need to be certain that the rear wheel cylinders are causing the bake shoes to expand and contact the brake drums.. Sounds like you have not done that.. Could be plugged brake line or frozen wheel cylinders (seen that one before).. Did you replace the rear brake hose (one only) and bleed the brakes?

Yes I changed the brake hose, and you were right the wheel cylinder was frozen she works well know however it feels real spongy when I depress the brakes.
I think it's because I am not used to all drum brakes.

Brakes should not feel spongy wether drum or not may need to bleed some more or did you replace bad cylinders or just break them free and put a kit in?
